Understanding yourself and increasing self-awareness is the first step towards healing. To help you in this process, we have compiled a list of resources that we believe will help you if you cannot access therapy at the moment or supplement the therapeutic process.

Where and How to reach out to Support Groups?
  • Ask your therapist/ psychiatrist (if already seeking their help)
  • Ask someone you know who has experience with the same issues.
  • Check online: Check all the information thoroughly before joining any group
Questions to ask before joining any support group:
  • Who runs the group? Is it run by any trained professional?
  • What is the purpose of the group? - is the group formed for specific issues (ex; anxiety, depression, etc)
  • Does the group provide the support you are seeking?- psychoeducation, peer support.
  • Is the group funded by someone? - Currently, there is no govt. run mental health support groups.
  • Are there any membership fees? Check out their membership plan if it is not free.
  • Where does the group hold its meeting and how often?
  • What are the rules and regulations of the group?

The purpose of self-help books is to help the readers solve their personal problems. Reading self-help books may help in raising awareness and performance.
